Sierra Makerspaces Featured on KOVR CBS-13, 08-14-2017

Sierra College Makerspaces were featured on KOVR Sacramento CBS 13 announcing that the college received a CCC Maker grant to expand making to other campuses as well as Hacker Lab powered by Sierra College in Rocklin. The CCC Maker grant will be used by Sierra College to inspire innovation and offer hands-on training to prepare students for careers.

Sierra College President, Willy Duncan, indicated that the makerspace offers students real world experiences and the opportunity to practice entrepreneurship, manufacturing and other skills sought by businesses.

Eric Ullrich, Co-Founder, Hacker Lab explained that the collaboration with Sierra College is the first private/public partnership in the nation to establish an educational makerspace.

A Sierra College student, Heather Lincoln, explains how she developed skills, through being a part of the Sierra College powered by Hacker Lab community, that lead her to becoming an entrepreneur as well as a makerspace instructor.
